PVC-UH Fittings

Application

  • Tecnoplastic PVC- UH pressure fittings are suitable for irrigation, potable water supply, chemical installations, water treatment, swimming pools, and food industries. Tecnoplastic PVC-UH pressure fitting can be used with any pipe made to the same international standards.

Range

  • Full range of fitting is available in following ranges: metric for solvent cement from 16 mm to 225 mm, BSP threaded from 3/8″ to 6″, adaptor set from 16×3/8″ to 160×6″

Standards

  • All dimensions of Tecnoplastic fittings are manufactured to international standard and conform to all relevant test requirements in tolerance. In the technical catalogue for each single item the following sizes indicates Z installing distance, L socket depth and other distances.

Our PVC-UH is suitable for conveying water and food staff in accordance with the laws of Italian National Authorities. (C.M. 102 02-12-78)

Materials

The PVC-UH compound used by Tecnoplastic is stabilized unplastified polyvinyl chloride material chemical resistances according to ISO/TR 10358.

Gaskets

Standard gaskets for unions and stubs are in EPDM (ethylene – polypropylene rubber). Other materials are available upon request.

General characteristics

Single and double union Ball Valve – compact type – characterized by optimal handling, full flow, axial pipe load block with micro adjustment of ball seat. Moreover in closed position the pipeline can be disconnected down-stream from the valve.

Our valve can be used mainly for: water treatment, swimming pool, water systems, foodstuffs and drinking water pipeline system, low aggressive chemical liquids etc.

Installation and use

When gluing the end connector of pipe, care must be taken to prevent the glue or solvent from coming in contact with the valve seats or ball.

Threaded ends should not be connected with cone-shaped male threads and use of hemp or similar materials should be carefully avoided. A special attention should be paid to the correct line-up of the installation and to the pipe length using Z distance. Tighten he union nut hand tight only. The use of wrench is not allowed. It is important that the unions are used to pull the system together.

If there is any leakage from the union nuts, please check the correct line-up of the system and the pipe length. An excessive tightening of the unions could finally break them.

Before the valve is cycled, all dirt, sand or other materials should be flushed from the system. This is to prevent scarring of the ball and/or seats.

It is important to avoid rapid closure/opening of the valve to eliminate the possibility of water hammer causing damage to the pipeline.

It is necessary that all installation and maintenance personnel become familiar with the proper solvent cement and thread joining procedure.

General characteristics

Compact double type ball valve: all types are realized with the same dimensions or our ball valves VSK/VSA and can be disassembled from the network simply by unscrewing the two union nuts.

VRO/VRK allows the passage of the liquid in one direction only.

VRO type oriented as foot valve allows the passage of the liquid acting as a foot valve. As an air release valve acts releasing the air until the liquid reaches the floating wedge closing the valve and maintaining therefore the liquid under pressure.

Disassembling and reassembling in case of maintenance

Unscrewing the nut 1 it is possible to take out radically from the system the whole central group of the valve.
To reach the internal parts of the valve act as follows:

  1. Take out the supporter 3 from the body 5 levering with a screwdriver between the two gates T of the body and the groove G of the support.
  2. After disassembling the support 3 and taking out the O – ring C that has stayed inside the body 5, it is possible to reach all the parts of the valve and check the O rings and in case substitute them.

To assemble the valve act in the opposite way being careful to set the O ring properly and greased it with silicon grease.

New

The VRO type has an internal rubber spring. Taking out the internal spring and orientating the valve in the right way, it is become either a foot valve or an air release.  The valve VR range has the same dimensions (Z distance) as the ball valves VSA and VSK series, as the strainer VRI, allowing this way a unique way of fixing to the wall thanks o the same type of clamping (cf. STF).
